Monroe Dual Language Academy is Accepting Applications for 2017-18

Garden Grove Unified School District’s Spanish Dual Language Academy at Monroe Elementary School is accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year. Transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students are eligible for the program. Interested parents should contact the school to sign up for a school tour and orientation meeting offered in December.

Garden Grove Unified School District Administrator Receives LULAC Award

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) Executive Director of K-12 Educational Services Dr. Lorena Luna Sanchez is one of five women being honored as “Orange County Women of the Year” by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Santa Ana Council #147. Dr. Sanchez will be recognized at the organization’s annual awards banquet on November 5 at The Ebell Club in Santa Ana.

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUD) students will have an opportunity to meet with college recruiters and admissions officers at the district’s annual College Fair on Monday, October 10, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Bolsa Grande High School. The free College Fair is open to all GGUSD high school students and their parents.

In a unique school-wide celebration commemorating the annual International Day of Peace, students portrayed the meaning of peace through readings, poems, musical performances, and a flag relay.

Cook Elementary School Named One of the Best in the Nation

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) is pleased to announce that A.J. Cook Elementary School was named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. this week. The prestigious honor was awarded to less than 300 public schools and 50 private schools nationwide.
