PRINCIPALS MESSAGE Barker's Vision
Dear Barker Students and Families,
Our vision clearly states what we are all about. Students are the priority at Barker. Our entire community of teachers, parents, staff, friends, and students is strongly committed to ensuring the success of every child attending our school.
The caring, knowledgeable teachers at Barker utilize the most effective teaching strategies to ensure the greatest amount of academic growth. Students receive instruction in whole groups, small groups, and individually as determined by areas of individual strength and need. Through collaboration and teaming, our teachers work together for the success of all. High student engagement is achieved in our classrooms by ensuring active involvement in every lesson while routinely checking for student understanding. Strong support programs are in place to ensure that students continually maintain high expectations for maximum results.
Barker students are known for demonstrating strong character traits in citizenship and work habits. Through our character awareness program, students focus on being responsible citizens and contributors to our school and community.
We are also very fortunate to have such a strong parental support group at Barker. Parents volunteer in classrooms on a regular basis as well as for special events and activities. They encourage our students by making education a priority. Our wonderful PTA gives so much to our school. They provide fun, worthwhile community events that bring all of us together. They are also instrumental in raising funds for special programs and materials that enrich our school.
We have an amazing support team at Barker that truly cares about this community of children and parents. They are here to make a difference. The office and custodial staff are always friendly and helpful, just ask our kids.
Barker School is a great place to learn and be a part of something worthwhile for kids. All of us that have the privilege of coming here every day to learn and work realize how fortunate we are. It is through teamwork and striving to reach the same high goals for our students that we make a difference in their lives and ours.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Susie Dollbaum, Principal
