Garden Park Elementary School students recently experienced African American Art through the eyes of contemporary American artist Lois Mailou Jones.  Her art, inspired by ancient African images, created the opportunity for students to interpret ancient as well as modern African motifs which were then put to use in their own cut paper and monoprint works

The Ancient American art pieces on display have been selected by the students in the class.
