This is the third year Garden Park Elementary School has competed in the Orange County Academic Pentathlon.  The Academic Pentathlon is an exciting five-event academic competition held annually for 6th grade students. Each school has a team of nine students and one alternate.  These students compete individually as well as a team in the following academic areas: Writing (essay format), Literature, Mathematics, Science and Social Science (the super quiz is either in science or social science). 

Our academic pentathlon team studied hard all year preparing for the county competition held in May.  This year we earned ten (10) individual medals and one (1) team medal. We'd like to recognize Madison Holst for earning the highest writing score in this year's competition. 

Without the direct financial support of our Garden Park PTA, extra-curricular activities such as this Academic Pentathlon would not be available to our students. We want to thank our PTA for their dedication to the education and academic competition of this memoriable annual activity.
