Every year during the months of September and October, Garden Park Elementary School students are given the opportunity to participate and express themselves artistically through the PTA sponsored Reflections contest.  Our students participate in the Reflections Program by simply submitting their entry to our Reflections PTA representative.  Students can submit an entry in one of the six art categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. The four grade divisions are primary (preschool to 2nd), intermediate (3rd to 5th), middle/junior (6th to 8th), and senior (9th to 12th).

This contest begins at the site level and can end at the national level.  This year we had 30 Garden Park students participate at the site level and six of those students rose to the Council level.  Of those six students, four of them moved on to the district level.  Extremely impressive!

Their artistic expressions can be seen at the Reflections Gallery and Reception at the Orange County Department of Education on February 20, 2010.  However, pictures of all of our participants and their artistic piece have been posted below.

A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Ybaben for all the time and effort put into Garden Park's Reflections contest.  Our students benefited from your attention to detail and enthusiasm surrounding this project.
