The first of two Walk-4-Education fundraisers took place October 3, 2008. This fabulous fundraising activty involved every member of the Garden Park Gecko community. We had a record number of volunteers working every aspect of the walk-a-thon. We had volunteers handing out water, handing out nutritious snacks, tallying lap tags, encouraging students to walk, and a magnificent photographer who documented this event (thank you Mr. Steven Perez).  Parents, teachers and students all participated in the actual walk.  Walkers traveled the marked path while music filled the air. 

We are pleased to annouce that because of the number of laps walked and the number of donations, our students earned over $4,000 for our school.  The funds raised go directly back into the school and will be used for study trips, Art Masters, and Accelerated Reader.

To all who participated through volunteering, through a financial contribution, or by walking during this worthwhile activity, we want to say 'Thank You'!  Without your continued support many of the extra-curriculuar activities we provide would not happen.
