Van's essay, "Benjamin Franklin- More Than a Revolutionary", has won both the Los Cerritos Chapter and the District XIII National Society Daughters of the American Revolution contests and she attended the State Competition. Along with the honor of having been chosen as a winner, she has been presented with award certificates and money. Van and fellow classmate, Mimi, also worked with their computer teacher, Wendy Vallier, and used the essay as the core script for a video celebration of the 300th anniversary of Benjamin Franklin's birth.

More kudos to Van for pursuing her goals, going through the audition and selection process and being accepted into ORANGE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL OF THE PERFORMING ARTS!    Congratulations to Van, Author, Actress, Filmmaker .
