WELCOME TO THE GUIDANCE OFFICE!
Upon entering Lincoln Continuation High School, every student meets with the guidance counselor who becomes the first source of help in planning courses and developing academic and career goals. All students have equal access to their counselor and all services that are provided. Students remain with the same counselor for their entire stay at Lincoln Continuation High School. Counselors can also help with the easy transition of new students starting their time with us as well as returning back to their comprehensive high school in the future.
Students will receive:
High school course planning to meet college entrance requirements
Opportunities to meet with college representatives on high school campuses and at the District College Information Night
Testing information (PSAT, ACT, SAT, CAHSEE, CST, AP)
Financial aid / scholarship information
Assistance with applications, scholarship and admission recommendations
College information appropriate to individual goals
Regional Occupational Program (ROP) advisement and enrollment
Community college program information
Trade, technical and vocational school information
Students and parents can also expect the following services:
Development of a personal academic plan
Orientation to include the scheduling process and graduation requirements
Registration, scheduling, and program adjustments as needed
Test results interpretation
Parent conferencing, parent-teacher conference arrangements
Counseling assistance and community referral information for special needs
Special grade reports provided upon request
Transcripts and graduation status reports provided twice yearly
