Child Development (UC)

This course introduces students to the history, philosophy and major theories of child growth and development. Students will study the physical, emotional and cognitive aspects of development from conception to early adolenscence. Instruction includes the biological, hereditary and environomental influences on development together with methods of supporting and promoting optimum healthy growth.

Biology

This course will provide students with a strong foundation in Biology including fundamental life processes. Topics include:

• Cell Biology
• Cellular Respiration
• Cellular Reproduction
• Genetics
• DNA
• Evolution

Physical Science

This course will encourage students to progress by asking meaningful questions involving physical science and will provide an indepth look at earth, the place where we thrive. Also, we will exaime the space surrounding earth, the universe! Topics include:

• Chemistry
• Rocks and Minerals
• Plate Tectonics
• Earthquakes and Volcanoes
• Oceans
• Atmosphere and Climate
• Astronomy
