Concert participation includes dressing appropriately for performances and arriving promptly. Students should pay close attention to presenting themselves in a clean and neat fashion. Clothing should be neatly pressed and shirts neatly tucked-in. Hair should be brushed back and away from the face, as it is the most visible and expressive part of the body while singing.
We are a choir that wears performance uniforms for concerts. While the students will have the opportunity to fundraise for the formal shirts provided for the choir, you will need to get the following items:
• black dress pants (or long black skirts for ladies)
• plain black socks (or beige/tan stockings for the ladies)
• plain black close-toe shoes
*No mini-skirts. (Skirt hems should be at or below the knees)
*No open-toe shoes or sandals.
*No jeans
As a performing art, chorus is a course that requires participation in concert performances. Student participation is a major part of your grade. Failure to participate in any concert will result in a lowered grade. Please make note of all concert dates. They are crucial to your student’s grades.
Parent support is an important aspect to our success. Please plan to attend your child’s performances and give them encouragement. It’s very exciting to see and hear their growth from one performance to the next. In addition, for student safety, it’s important that your son/daughter is on-time coming to and leaving from any concert performances on school campus. Your presence will assure this.
The most important audience to your child is you.
