Programs and Activities:

Newhope Elementary School has many programs to reinforce and reward the positive achievements of it's students. Some of these are:

*Newhope PTO:

*Accelerated Reading:  Students read books at their appropriate level and then take computer generated comprehension tests.  Reading level and percentage correct are included in their goal setting.  Students meeting their goals are rewarded with various prizes.

*Roaring Tiger Slips:  These coupons are handed out by any adult at school when the child is seen doing a good deed.  Random tickets are drawn for a weekly ice cream treat.

*Character Trait Tickets:  These coupons are handed out by any adult at school when the child is seen practicing the current character trait.  Two students from each classroom with the most tickets will get an award at the end of the two months.

Respect:  September / October

Responsibility:  November / December

Kindness:  January / February

Honesty:  March / April

Control:  May / June

*O Club:  Each trimester, awards are given to students who receive 10 or more O's (outstanding) in the Responsibility section of their report card.  These students receive certificates and prizes at an Award's Assembly.

*Perfect Attendance:e:  These awards are given at the end of each trimester to the children with perfect attendance.  Each class strives to win this competition by having the most students at school doing their very best every day.
