A few points to keep in mind for the 2011-12 school year:
- All students will start school at 7:50. The kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:00. Students in grades 1 – 6 will be dismissed at 2:05 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and at 1:15 on Wednesdays.
- Children should not arrive at school before 7:35 a.m., as there is NO adult supervision until that time.
- When visiting the school, please remember to sign in and receive a visitor pass in the Office. Classroom visits should be pre-arranged with the teacher.
- Comfortable clothes and tennis shoes are best for school. Sandals are considered unsafe for school activities.
- If you need to have your child excused from school early, you or a person listed on the emergency card must sign him/her out in the school office. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOUR CHILD CAN ONLY BE PICKED UP BY SOMEONE LISTED ON THE EMERGENCY CARD. TO INSURE THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD, WE ARE ASKING THAT EVERYONE SHOW A PICTURE ID.
- If you change babysitters, be sure the school office has the new name, phone number and address for use in an emergency.
- When your child is home ill, call the school office by 8:30 a.m. to report the absence. A note written by the parent should be sent with the child when he/she returns to school.
- Students in grades 4-5-6 may ride bicycles to school if they have a signed permission form, a lock, and a helmet. Students in grades K-3 may not ride bicycles to school.
- Please have children leave extra money, toys, sports equipment, etc. at home. These can cause confusion and are easily lost.
- In order to be sensitive to all students in your child's class, please do not pass out party invitations at school unless there is one for every child in the class.
- Please remember to use the designated crosswalk and use the utmost caution while driving in the parking lot.
- The 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each week is designated as Garden Grove street sweeping days. Parking will be limited during the sweeping hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Major streets and other special areas are posted for sweeping and no parking between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
