Student – Parent – School Compact

 


We believe that all students should participate in an academically focused curriculum which is challenging and enables all students to achieve.  This compact shows how we will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement.  The following activities will develop a partnership to help students achieve.
 

          As a student I will:

·              Believe that I can and will learn.

·              Ask for help when I need it and attend interventions when offered.

·              Complete all class work and homework to the best of my ability.

·              Attend school regularly, on time and ready to learn.

·              Know and follow school rules and dress code.

·              Respect the school, classmates, staff and family. 

          As a family we will:

·              Talk to our child regularly about school.

·              Communicate with the school when we have concerns.

·              Support our child’s learning by making sure they attend school every day, on time, and with homework completed to the best of their ability.

·              Support the school’s discipline and dress code.

·              Work closely with the classroom teachers to ensure the success of our children.

·              Provide a quiet time and place for homework.

·              Communicate regularly through conferences, parent education programs, Back to School Night, Open House, and observation.

           As a school staff we will:

·              Provide high quality standards-based curriculum and instruction.

·              Communicate high expectations for every student.

·              Provide an atmosphere that fosters learning, provides opportunities for success, and helps develop responsible, caring, independent students.

·              Recognize the various cultural diversities within the school community.

·              Maintain a caring learning environment.

·              Explain expectations, instructional goals, and grading systems to students and families.

·              Communicate regularly with families about their student’s progress and participate in meetings.

·              Participate in professional development that improves teaching and learning.

·              Provide tutoring opportunities to ensure success.
