Coronavirus Update - 3/27/2020
Dear Families,
We hope that you are staying healthy and following the Governor’s order to stay home during this unprecedented global health crisis.
Effective Monday, March 30, our Grab and Go Meal service will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to ensure our families and food service workers are able to stay home as much as possible, reducing their risk of exposure to illness. GGUSD’s Grab and Go Meal Service provides free breakfast and lunch every week, with the exception of Spring Recess April 6-10. Families will receive meals for Monday and Tuesday every Monday and meals for Wednesday through Friday every Wednesday. Visit www.ggusd.us/coronavirus for a list of locations.
This week, GGUSD launched a new website, https://ggusd.us/covidresources, which is packed full of resources in three categories – academics, wellness, and community-based resources. The Academic Resources section includes resources for at-home learning, digital textbooks, and other tools to support at-home learning. The Wellness Resources section includes information on supporting students’ mental health and socio-emotional well-being. Community Resources includes free or low-cost services provided by community organizations, including help with access to free food, childcare, and internet services.
In addition to the academic resources posted on our website, our teachers and instructional leaders have been hard at work leading virtual classrooms and digitally engaging with students. Our schools continue to check out devices for those who need them, and our community liaisons, school psychologists, and instructional aides have also been checking in on students. If you need additional assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to your teacher or school principal (you can direct message them on ParentSquare or find their email address on our school websites).For assistance with ParentSquare, visit https://ggusd.us/parentsquare. We are preparing a packet with Frequently Asked Questions and additional resources, which will be mailed to your homes in the upcoming weeks.
Finally, you may have heard the Governor’s comments regarding the need to extend school closures. The Board of Education will be working soon to take action on this and all new updates will be communicated immediately and posted on our website at https://www.ggusd.us/coronavirus.

Kể từ ngày thứ hai, 30 tháng 3, để bảo đảm các gia đình và nhân viên phục vụ bữa ăn trong học khu được ở nhà nhiều hơn nhằm giảm bớt nguy cơ tiếp xúc với mầm bệnh, chương trình cung cấp bữa ăn sáng và ăn trưa miễn phí của GGUSD phát cho các gia đình theo kiểu Tới Lấy Mang Đi sẽ phục vụ từ 11 đến 1 giờ trưa vào các ngày thứ hai và thứ tư hàng tuần (ngoại trừ tuần nghỉ lễ mùa Xuân từ ngày 6 đến ngày 10 tháng 4). Vào ngày thứ hai, các gia đình sẽ nhận phần ăn cho ngày thứ hai và cả ngày thứ ba; và vào ngày thứ tư các gia đình sẽ nhận phần ăn cho thứ tư đến thứ sáu. Bên cạnh các nguồn hỗ trợ học tập trên trang mạng của học khu, các giáo viên và phụ giáo đã nỗ lực hướng dẫn các lớp học trên mạng và dùng phương tiện kỹ thuật số để trao đổi với học sinh. Nhà trường tiếp tục cho học sinh mượn các dụng cụ cần thiết, và các liên lạc viên học đường, chuyên viên tâm lý, và các phụ giáo vẫn tiếp tục hỏi thăm tình hình các học sinh.
