Weekly Reopening Update - July 31, 2020
The first day of school for GGUSD students is August 24th – less than one month away. Please read and review our GGUSD School Reopening Plan (attached) which includes information about starting the school year in an online-only distance learning format as required by the state. The plan also outlines district learning models and safety protocols that will be implemented when schools do re-open for in-person instruction. Please take time to read this document so that you know what to expect for the 2020-2021 school year. Also included below is a reopening update video from our Board of Education and superintendent. (Please note: The Spanish and Vietnamese versions of the reopening document and video are currently being developed and will be shared as soon as they are ready).
Each of our 67 schools has developed its own reopening plan with school-specific information. You should receive (if you haven’t already) ParentSquare communication from your school this week with school-specific reopening information.
High school offices have been open through the summer. The district office and all elementary and intermediate school offices will open August 10. We encourage you to call ahead to schedule an appointment with district and school office staff. Walk-ins are discouraged to ensure we can maintain physical distancing.
We have received questions regarding applications for the district’s new Virtual Learning Academy. The posting of the application was delayed and will be posted next week at https://vla.ggusd.us along with an extension for the required submission date and priority application deadline. We apologize for the delay in this process.

Noticias semanales sobre la reapertura – 31 de julio de 2020
Estimados padres de familia, alumnos y personal escolar:
El primer día de clases para los alumnos del GGUSD es el 24 de agosto – en menos de un mes. Por favor lea y revise el Plan de Reapertura para las Escuelas del GGUSD (adjunto), el cual incluye información sobre el comienzo del año escolar que será en un formato de aprendizaje a distancia en línea solamente, como es requerido por el estado. El plan también describe los modelos de aprendizaje y los protocolos de seguridad del Distrito que serán implementados cuando las escuelas vuelvan a abrir para la enseñanza en persona. Por favor tome un momento para leer este documento para que sepa que esperar para el año escolar 2020-2021. También está incluido abajo un video de las noticias más recientes sobre la reapertura de parte de nuestra Mesa Directiva de Educación y de la superintendente. (Por favor tenga en cuenta que las versiones en español y vietnamita, del documento y video de la reapertura, se están desarrollando actualmente y se compartirán en cuanto estén listas).
Por favor tenga en cuenta que cada una de nuestras 67 escuelas ha desarrollado su propio plan de reapertura que contiene información específica de la escuela. Debe recibir esta semana (si no es que ya lo recibió) un mensaje de su escuela, por medio de ParentSquare, con la información específica de la reapertura.
Las oficinas de las escuelas secundarias han estado abiertas durante el verano. La oficina del Distrito y las oficinas de todas las escuelas primarias e intermedias abrirán el 10 de agosto. Les recomendamos que llamen con anticipación para programar una cita con el personal del Distrito o el personal de las escuelas. No se recomienda llegar sin cita para asegurar que mantengamos el distanciamiento físico.
Hemos recibido preguntas sobre las solicitudes para la nueva Academia de Aprendizaje Virtual del Distrito. Se retrasó la publicación de la solicitud y se publicará la próxima semana en https://vla.ggusd.us junto con una extensión de la fecha límite requerida para presentarse y para las solicitudes con prioridad. Nos disculpamos por el retraso de este proceso.

Weekly Reopening Update - July 31, 2020
Quý phụ huynh, nhân viên và các em học sinh thân mến,
Không đầy một tháng nữa là đến ngày khai giảng, 24 tháng 8, khi các em học sinh GGUSD bắt đầu niên học mới. Quý vị vui lòng đọc và xem lại Kế Hoạch Mở Trường Lại của GGUSD (đính kèm), trong đó bao gồm các chi tiết về việc khởi đầu niên học mới chỉ với cách học trên mạng ở nhà theo yêu cầu của tiểu bang. Kế hoạch này cũng phác thảo các phương cách học và thể thức về việc giữ an toàn mà học khu sẽ thực hiện khi khi học sinh trở lại học tại trường. Quý vị vui lòng dành chút thời gian để đọc tài liệu này để hiểu rõ mọi việc sẽ diễn tiến như thế nào trong niên học 2020-2021. Đính kèm dưới đây là video cập nhật về việc mở trường lại của Hội Đồng Giáo Dục và học khu trưởng. (Quý vị vui lòng lưu ý: chúng tôi đang phiên dịch tài liệu và đoạn video về kế hoạch mở trường lại sang tiếng Tây Ban Nha và tiếng Việt, sau khi hoàn tất chúng tôi sẽ gửi cho quý vị ngay).
Lưu ý với quý vị là mỗi trường trong 67 trường của học khu sẽ soạn riêng một kế hoạch về việc mở trường lại với những chi tiết cụ thể của từng trường. Tuần này, quý vị sẽ nhận (nếu chưa nhận) thông tin cụ thể về việc mở trường lại của trường con quý vị gửi qua hệ thống ParentSquare.
Các văn phòng trường trung học cấp II đã mở cửa làm việc trong suốt mùa hè. Bắt đầu từ ngày 10 tháng 8, văn phòng học khu và tất cả các văn phòng trường tiểu học và trung học cấp I sẽ mở trở lại. Nhằm bảo đảm việc giữ khoảng cách an toàn, chúng tôi khuyên quý vị nên gọi trước để lấy hẹn với học khu và nhân viên trường và không nên đến khi không có hẹn.
Chúng tôi đã nhận các thắc mắc về đơn Ghi Danh Chương Trình Học Trên Mạng mới của học khu. Do có sự chậm trễ nhưng vào tuần tới chúng tôi sẽ đăng đơn này trên mạng: https://vla.ggusd.us cùng với thời hạn ưu tiên và ngày gia hạn để nộp đơn theo yêu cầu. Chúng tôi cáo lỗi về sự chậm trễ này.
