Weekly Reopening Update - June 19, 2020
Dear Families,
As we plan for the 2020-2021 school year beginning on August 24, we are committed to developing reopening plans that meet the needs of our community and align with our strategic goals to equip all students with the academic and personal skills for lifelong success. In doing so, the safety and well-being of our students, families and staff, is our highest priority. Over the summer, we will provide weekly updates to ensure our community is informed every step of the way. We thank you in advance for your patience through this process.
Reopening Survey
Over the last several weeks, GGUSD mailed more than 21,0000 scantron surveys to all parents and guardians for each student enrolled in our district. Click here to view the survey (English, Spanish and Vietnamese versions) The surveys were sent by mail (along with a #2 pencil and pre-stamped envelope) in an effort to collect as much input as possible about your preferences and priorities regarding reopening schools and the learning models you prefer for your child(ren) for the 2020-2021 school year. The final batch of surveys was sent to the post office June 5 for bulk mail. We have heard that delivery was delayed in some areas depending on the post office delivery schedule by city.
If you do not receive a survey by June 22, please call our Office of Parent and Community Outreach to complete your survey over the phone at (657) 206-6023 (English/Spanish) or (657) 206-5448 (English/Vietnamese). Your input is important as we develop a plan that meets the needs of GGUSD families, adheres to health requirements, and upholds the level of academic excellence our community has come to know and expect.
Reopening Task Force
Thank you to the more than 200 staff, parents, and students who signed up to participate in our Reopening Task Force. This diverse group of stakeholders will serve an important advisory role, offering various perspectives during six meetings over the course of three weeks in June and July.
County and State Guidance
Last week, the California Department of Education released its guidance document, "Stronger Together, A Guidebook for the Safe Reopening of California's Public Schools." This week, the Orange County Department of Education also released a guidebook to help school districts plan for this new educational landscape as we work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

A medida que planeamos el año escolar 2020-2021, que empieza el 24 de agosto, tenemos el compromiso de desarrollar planes de reapertura que cumplan con las necesidades de nuestra comunidad y que estén alineados con nuestras metas estratégicas para preparar a todos los alumnos con las habilidades académicas y personales para que logren el éxito de por vida. Al hacer eso, la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros alumnos, familias y personal, son nuestra principal prioridad. Durante el verano, proporcionaremos actualizaciones semanales para asegurar que nuestra comunidad se mantenga informada en todo momento. Les agradecemos de antemano su paciencia durante este proceso.
Encuesta para la Reapertura
Durante las últimas semanas, el GGUSD envió por correo más de 21,0000 encuestas con planillas de respuestas a todos los padres de familia y tutores de cada alumno inscrito en nuestro Distrito. Hagan clic aquí para ver la encuesta (con versiones en inglés, español y vietnamita). Las encuestas se enviaron por correo (junto con un lápiz #2 y un sobre con estampilla) en un esfuerzo para recopilar la mayor cantidad posible de sugerencias acerca de sus preferencias y prioridades referentes a la reapertura de las escuelas y de los modelos de aprendizaje que ustedes prefieren para su(s) hijo(s) durante el año escolar 2020-2021. La última tanda de encuestas se envió a la oficina de correo postal el 5 de junio para el envío masivo. Nos hemos enterado que la entrega de correo se atrasó en algunas áreas dependiendo del horario de entrega de la oficina de correo postal según la ciudad.
Si ustedes no han recibido una encuesta a más tardar el 22 de junio, por favor llamen a nuestra Oficina de Enlace Comunitario y de Padres al (657) 206-6023 (en inglés y español) o al (657) 206-5448 (en inglés y vietnamita) para completar sus encuestas por teléfono. Sus aportes son importantes a medida que desarrollamos un plan que cumpla con las necesidades de las familias del GGUSD, se adhiera a los requisitos de salud y que preserve el nivel de excelencia académica que nuestra comunidad ha llegado a conocer y esperar.
Grupo de Trabajo para la Reapertura
Les agradecemos a los más de 200 miembros del personal, padres de familia y alumnos que se inscribieron para participar en nuestro Grupo de Trabajo para la Reapertura. Este grupo diverso formado por las partes interesadas desempeñará un papel consultivo importante al ofrecer varias perspectivas durante seis reuniones, que se realizarán en el trascurso de tres semanas, en los meses de junio y julio.
Directrices del Condado y del Estado
La semana pasada, el Departamento de Educación de California publicó el documento de sus directrices llamado “Stronger Together, A Guidebook for the Safe Reopening of California's Public Schools”. Esta semana, el Departamento de Educación del Condado de Orange también publicó una guía para ayudar a los distritos escolares a planear el nuevo entorno educativo mientras trabajamos juntos para prevenir el contagio del COVID-19.

Tin Cập Nhật Hàng Tuần Về Việc Mở Trường Lại – 19 tháng 6, 2020
Thưa quý phụ huynh,
Để chuẩn bị cho niên khoá 2020-2021 bắt đầu vào ngày 24 tháng 8, chúng tôi quyết tâm hoạch định sao cho việc mở trường lại vừa đáp ứng được những nhu cầu trong cộng đồng chúng ta,vừa phù hợp với các mục tiêu và đường hướng nhằm trang bị cho mọi học sinh các kỹ năng cá nhân và học vấn để thành công trên đường đời. Khi làm việc này, chúng tôi luôn đặt sự an toàn và lành mạnh của học sinh, gia đình và nhân viên là ưu tiên hàng đầu. Vào mùa hè, chúng tôi sẽ gửi tin cập nhật hàng tuần để bảo đảm cộng đồng chúng ta được thông báo từng bước của kế hoạch. Chúng tôi cảm ơn trước sự kiên nhẫn của quý vị trong suốt tiến trình này.
Thăm Dò Về Việc Mở Trường Lại
Trong vài tuần qua, GGUSD đã gửi qua đường bưu chính hơn 21,0000 bản thăm dò trên phiếu “scantron” đến tất cả phụ huynh/người giám hộ của mỗi học sinh ghi danh trong học khu. Bấm vào đây để xem bản thăm dò (bản tiếng Anh, tiếng Tây Ban Nha và tiếng Việt). Chúng tôi đã gửi các bản thăm dò này qua đường bưu chính (cùng với bút chì #2 và bao thư dán tem sẵn) nhằm thâu thập càng nhiều ý kiến càng tốt về nguyện vọng và ưu tiên của quý vị trong việc mở trường lại, cùng các mô hình học tập mà quý vị muốn dành cho con em trong năm học 2020-2021. Loạt thư thăm dò cuối cùng đã được đưa đến bưu điện vào ngày 5 tháng 6 để gửi đi chung. Chúng tôi được biết ở một số vùng, việc giao thư bị trì hoãn tuỳ vào lịch trình giao thư của bưu điện thành phố đó.
Nếu cho đến ngày 22 tháng 6 mà quý vị vẫn chưa nhận được bản thăm dò, vui lòng gọi cho Ban Giao Tế Cộng Đồng của học khu ở số (657) 206-6023 (tiếng Anh/tiếng Tây Ban Nha) hay (657) 206-5448 (tiếng Anh/tiếng Việt) để hoàn tất bản thăm dò qua điện thoại. Ý kiến của quý vị rất quan trọng để giúp chúng tôi lập kế hoạch nhằm đáp ứng nhu cầu các gia đình của GGUSD, tuân thủ những yêu cầu về y tế, đồng thời duy trì trình độ học vấn xuất sắc mà cộng đồng chúng ta đã biết và mong đợi.
Toán Đặc Trách về Việc Mở Trường Lại
Chúng tôi chân thành cảm tạ hơn 200 nhân viên, phụ huynh và học sinh đã ghi tên tham gia vào Toán Đặc Trách về Việc Mở Trường Lại. Với vai trò cố vấn quan trọng, nhóm thành viên cộng đồng đa dạng này sẽ đưa ra nhiều quan điểm trong sáu buổi họp vào ba tuần lễ của tháng 6 và 7.
Hướng Dẫn của Quận Hạt và Tiểu Bang
Vào tuần trước, Bộ Giáo Dục California đã ban hành tài liệu hướng dẫn: "Cùng Nhau Vững Mạnh, Sách Hướng Dẫn về Việc Mở Lại Các Trường Công Lập California Một Cách An Toàn.” Tuần này, Sở Giáo Dục Hạt Orange cũng ban hành bản hướng dẫn nhằm giúp các học khu chuẩn bị cho môi trường học đường mới này trong lúc chúng ta cùng hợp tác để ngăn ngừa sự lây lan của COVID-19.
