Weekly Reopening Update - June 26, 2020
Dear GGUSD Families,
We are grateful that thousands of GGUSD families completed and returned our survey on school reopening. So far, we have received 15,000 surveys. It is important that we hear from all families across our 67 schools so that we can effectively plan and ensure we have the classroom space and online learning programs to support the needs of all students. GGUSD staff will be calling those families who have not yet completed a survey to take responses by phone in an effort to collect as much data from our community as possible.
Additionally, nearly 300 employees, parents and students signed up to participate in our Reopening Task Force with our first meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 30. Task force members will serve on four subcommittees to provide feedback to district leaders on key areas of work, including: Scheduling of Students, Health and Safety, Virtual Academy and Emergency Response.
Scheduling: Currently, all school principals are analyzing their survey data, potential enrollment numbers, and available space following the distancing guidelines from the state and county. Each school team will develop its own site specific plan based on building capacity and the needs/preferences expressed by their school’s families.
Health and Safety: GGUSD has ordered personal protective equipment (PPE) for all sites, including soap, sanitizer, masks, and face shields, as well as plexiglass barriers and disinfectant/cleaning supplies.
Virtual Academy: GGUSD will be offering distance learning and a Virtual Academy in the fall. Families who expressed interest on their survey for this option will receive information about an upcoming informational meeting which will be held in July.
Emergency Response: GGUSD is currently refining its emergency response plans including protocols that must be followed when an individual develops COVID-19 symptoms and/or tests positive. Details on these protocols will be communicated with all stakeholders in the coming weeks following feedback from our Reopening Task Force.
As the district moves forward with reopening plans for the first day of school on August 24, our district office and high school offices will reopen on July 13 and elementary (PreK-6) and intermediate school (7-8) offices will reopen by August 10. The Assessment Registration Center (ARC) will reopen on August 3. Additionally, beginning July 13, we will begin a phased-in return of high school athletics for summer conditioning. The public is encouraged to call ahead and make an appointment with district and school staff.

Estimadas Familias del GGUSD:
Estamos muy agradecidos que miles de familias llenaron y regresaron nuestra encuesta acerca de la reapertura del GGUSD. Hasta el momento hemos recibido 15,000 encuestas. Es muy importante que escuchemos a todas las familias de las 67 escuelas, para que podamos planear eficazmente y asegurarnos que tengamos el espacio en los salones de clases y los programas de aprendizaje en línea para cumplir las necesidades de todos los alumnos. El personal del GGUSD llamará a aquellas familias que todavía no han llenado la encuesta, para tomar sus respuestas por teléfono con el propósito de recopilar la mayor cantidad de información de nuestra comunidad como sea posible.
Además, cerca de 300 miembros del personal, padres de familia y alumnos se inscribieron para participar en nuestro Grupo de Trabajo para la Reapertura. La primera reunión será el martes 30 de junio. Los miembros del Grupo de Trabajo brindarán sus servicios en cuatro subcomités para proporcionar aportaciones a los líderes del Distrito en áreas claves de trabajo, incluyendo: los Horarios de los Alumnos, Salud y Seguridad, la Academia Virtual y Respuesta a Emergencia.
Horarios: Actualmente todos los directores de las escuelas están analizando la información de las encuestas, el posible número de inscripciones, y los espacios disponibles siguiendo las normas de distanciamiento del estado y el condado. Cada equipo escolar desarrollará su propio plan específico del plantel de acuerdo a la capacidad del edificio y las necesidades o preferencias expresadas por las familias de cada escuela.
Salud y Seguridad: El GGUSD ha ordenado un equipo de protección personal (PPE) en todos los planteles, que incluyen jabón, desinfectantes, mascarillas, y caretas protectoras, así como también barreras divisorias de plástico plexiglass y suministros de desinfectantes y de limpieza.
Academia Virtual: El GGUSD ofrecerá en el otoño clases de aprendizaje a distancia y una Academia Virtual. Las familias que expresaron su interés en su encuesta para esta opción recibirán información acerca de las próximas reuniones informativas que se llevarán a cabo en el mes de julio.
Respuesta de Emergencias: El GGUSD está actualmente refinando los detalles de los planes de respuesta a emergencias los cuales incluirán protocolos que se deberán seguir si una persona desarrolla síntomas de COVID-19 o si el examen sale positivo. Los detalles acerca de estos protocolos se les comunicarán a todas las partes interesadas en el transcurso de las siguientes semanas seguido de las aportaciones de nuestro Grupo de Trabajo para la Reapertura.
A medida que el Distrito avanza con los planes de reapertura para el primer día de clases el 24 de agosto, nuestras oficinas del Distrito y de las Escuelas Secundarias reabrirán el 13 de julio y las oficinas de las Escuelas Primarias (PreK-6) y de las Escuelas Intermedias (7-8) reabrirán el 10 de agosto. El Centro de Evaluación e Inscripción (ARC) reabrirá el 3 de agosto. Además, empezando el 13 de julio, empezará la fase de regreso a los deportes de atletismo de las Escuelas Secundarias para el entrenamiento de verano. Se le recomienda al púbico que llamen con anticipación para hacer una cita con el Distrito y el personal escolar.

Thưa quý phụ huynh và học sinh GGUSD
Chúng tôi cảm tạ các gia đình GGUSD đã hoàn tất và gửi trả hàng ngàn bản thăm dò về việc mở trường lại. Cho đến giờ, số bản thăm dò chúng tôi nhận được là xx,xxxx. Việc nghe được ý kiến của mọi gia đình có con em theo học 67 trường trong học khu rất quan trọng, nhờ đó chúng tôi có thể hoạch định hiệu quả hơn và bảo đảm có đủ chỗ ngồi trong lớp cũng như các chương trình học trên mạng để hỗ trợ nhu cầu của mọi học sinh. Với những gia đình nào chưa hoàn tất bản thăm dò, nhân viên học khu sẽ liên lạc để quý vị trả lời trên điện thoại, nhằm giúp chúng tôi thu thập được các dữ kiện trong cộng đồng càng nhiều càng tốt.
Ngoài ra, gần 300 nhân viên, phụ huynh và học sinh đã ghi danh tham gia buổi họp đầu tiên của Ban Đặc Trách về Việc Mở Trường Lại vào thứ ba, ngày 30 tháng 6. Để cung cấp các dữ kiện cho cấp lãnh đạo học khu, các thành viên trong ban sẽ phục vụ trong bốn tiểu ban lo về những vấn đề chính: Lịch Trình Học, Y Tế và Sự An Toàn, Việc Học Trên mạng, và Ứng Cứu Cấp Thời.
Lịch Trình Học: Hiện nay, các hiệu trưởng đang phân tích những dữ liệu thu thập được từ kết quả thăm dò, sĩ số học sinh ghi danh, và chỗ ngồi trong lớp theo đúng hướng dẫn của tiểu bang và quận hạt về việc giữ khoảng cách an toàn. Mỗi trường sẽ có kế hoạch riêng dựa trên tình trạng phòng ốc cũng như nhu cầu/ý muốn của các gia đình có con em theo học trong trường.
Y Tế và Sự An Toàn: GGUSD đã đặt mua các dụng cụ bảo vệ cá nhân (PPE) cho mọi trường, gồm có xà bông, thuốc rửa tay khô, khẩu trang, khiên che mặt, cũng như những vách ngăn bằng nhựa trong và các dụng cụ dọn dẹp/khử trùng.
Việc Học Trên Mạng: GGUSD sẽ mở Lớp Học Trên Mạng để học sinh học tại nhà vào mùa thu. Những gia đình nào chọn giải pháp này trên bản thăm dò sẽ nhận được thông báo để biết thêm chi tiết về buổi họp sẽ tổ chức trong tháng 7.
Ứng Cứu Cấp Thời: GGUSU đang hoàn thiện kế hoạch ứng cứu cấp thời bao gồm các thủ tục phải tuân thủ khi một người nào có triệu chứng bị COVID-19 hoặc xét nghiệm dương tính, hay cả hai. Các chi tiết về thủ tục sẽ được thông báo đến mọi thành viên trong vài tuần nữa, sau khi chúng tôi nhận được các hồi đáp từ Ban Đặc Trách về Việc Mở Trường Lại.
Học khu đang xúc tiến việc mở trường lại với ngày tựu trường là 24 tháng 8, văn phòng học khu và các trường trung học cấp II sẽ mở cửa vào ngày 13 tháng 7, văn phòng các trường tiểu học (Vườn Trẻ-Lớp 6) và trung học cấp I (Lớp 7-8) sẽ mở cửa lại vào ngày 10 tháng 8. Trung Tâm Ghi Danh và Khảo Thí (ARC) sẽ mở cửa lại vào ngày 3 tháng 8. Ngoài ra, bắt đầu từ ngày 13 tháng 7, chúng tôi sẽ từng bước mở lại chương trình luyện tập thể thao mùa hè cấp trung học. Chúng tôi khuyến khích mọi người nên gọi lấy hẹn trước với nhân viên trường và học khu.
