Wishing You a Safe Holiday Season
Garden Grove Unified School District’s winter recess is quickly approaching (December 21 – January 1). We know that families in our communities will be in need of help more than ever during this unique holiday season. GGUSD cares deeply about the health and well-being of our families and we are committed to providing resources and health and safety tips to our community.
The district’s Family Resource Center (FRC) can directly connect families with community-based resources to ensure those struggling with hardship get the help they need. Contact the FRC at (714) 663-6411 to speak to someone today. Please note: The FRC will be closed during the winter recess but is otherwise staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additionally, Orange County Health Care Agency’s list of community resources provides help to families impacted by COVID-19 in a variety of areas, including job loss, childcare, food assistance, rent, shelter and more. GGUSD has partnered with Care Solace to support our community’s mental health. GGUSD families can use Care Solace to quickly find verified mental health, behavioral health, and substance use treatment options matched to their needs, regardless of circumstances or insurance coverage. Families can access help 24 hours per day by phone at 888-515-0595, email at weserve@caresolace.org or by visiting www.caresolace.com/ggusdfamilies.
We encourage all GGUSD families to commit to important health and safety practices to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, including:
- Follow the Regional Stay-at-Home Order by wearing a mask at all times, practicing physical distancing, staying home as much as possible, and refraining from hosting or attending gatherings with anyone other than members of your own household.
- Follow the California Travel Advisory by refraining from all non-essential travel.
- If you think you may have COVID-19, isolate from others and contact your health care provider about care and testing.
