Bolsa Grande Student Honored with Every Student Succeeding Award

Nathaniel Fiaputa

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) proudly congratulates Bolsa Grande High School senior Nathaniel Fiaputa for being recognized with the Every Student Succeeding Award during the “Student Superheroes Every Student Succeeding Breakfast,” on March 6 hosted by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 17 at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.

The Every Student Succeeding Award honors students who have demonstrated exceptional resilience by overcoming significant personal challenges while continuing to pursue academic and personal success. Nathaniel was selected for his perseverance, leadership and determination in the face of adversity.

Throughout high school, Nathaniel has shown remarkable strength while navigating profound personal losses and life challenges. With the support of his grandparents, extended family and a network of teachers, counselors, administrators and coaches, he has continued to thrive both academically and athletically.

A standout leader on his school’s football team, Nathaniel has earned the respect of his teammates and coaches for his dedication, work ethic and ability to inspire others. His leadership extends beyond the field, where he encourages fellow students, mentors younger peers and demonstrates a commitment to personal growth and responsibility. District leaders say Nathaniel’s journey reflects the power of perseverance and the importance of strong support systems in helping students succeed.

“Nathaniel is an extraordinary young man whose resilience and leadership inspire everyone around him,” said GGUSD Superintendent Gabriela Mafi. “Despite experiencing significant hardships, he has continued to rise, setting an incredible example for his peers and demonstrating what it truly means to persevere.”

Balancing the demands of varsity athletics and academics, Nathaniel has maintained a strong commitment to his education and has been accepted to multiple four-year universities.
