Evacuation Orders Lifted - All Schools Reopen Tomorrow

Tonight at 7:30 p.m., officials announced that all evacuation orders related to the Garden Grove hazardous materials incident have been lifted. Command officials have confirmed that there is no chemical leak, no threat of explosion, no threat of fire, and no risk to the public.

We are happy to report that all schools will be open tomorrow for the final day of the school year.

We understand this news came late in the evening and returning home after an evacuation may take time. Please know that students will not be penalized if they are unable to attend school tomorrow as families continue to recover and make necessary arrangements. This will apply with grades as well, as students will be “held harmless”

We are grateful for the diligence of all of our first responders as they worked tirelessly to protect our community. Thank you to all GGUSD families, staff and students for your flexibility during this challenging end to the school year. We are pleased we can end the school year with all schools open and all families safely returning home.
