Heritage Elementary Students Laced Up with New Nikes Thanks to Shoes That Fit and Nordstrom
- Wednesday, October 1, 2025

Heritage Elementary Computer Science Academy was filled with excitement and smiles this week as all 439 students received a brand-new pair of Nike shoes, courtesy of Shoes That Fit in partnership with Nordstrom. The generous donation also included a variety of fun shoe charms and shoe bags.
The event, held September 30, was more than just a shoe distribution—it was a celebration. With a live DJ playing upbeat tunes, photo stations capturing joyful moments, and a charm selection station to personalize each pair, the day felt like a festival of kindness.
Heritage was selected for this opportunity by Shoes That Fit and Nordstrom based on need and location. As a proud Community School, Heritage focuses on connecting families with resources and support that go beyond the classroom.
“This event exemplifies our dedication to supporting the whole child and meeting their needs beyond the classroom,” said Board of Education Vice President Bob Harden. “Thanks to the generosity of Shoes that Fit and Nordstrom, students walked away with new shoes and were uplifted with a renewed sense of confidence and joy.”
The giveaway followed a previous visit from Shoes That Fit and Nordstrom volunteers, where students were individually measured to ensure a perfect fit. Those thoughtful efforts paid off—with hundreds of smiling faces and lots of happy feet.
Shoes That Fit is a national nonprofit that partners with individuals and organizations like Nordstrom to provide new athletic shoes to children in need, empowering students toward a bright future while boosting self-esteem.
